The Filipino American Association of Jacksonville, AR (“FILAM,” “we,” “us”) is a volunteer-run cultural nonprofit. We collect only the information we need to run the association and serve our members, and we never sell it. This page explains what we collect and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Membership & contact details you give us - name, email, phone, mailing address, and household members on a family plan.
- Form submissions - messages sent through our contact form, scholarship applications, and newsletter sign-ups.
- Scholarship documents you upload, stored privately and visible only to authorized scholarship reviewers.
- Basic account data for members who use the member portal (sign-in email and role).
How we use it
To process membership and dues, review scholarship applications, send association news and event updates you've asked for, and run day-to-day operations. We do not use your information for advertising.
Who can see it
Information is accessible only to FILAM officers and committee members whose role requires it, under a permission system that limits access by responsibility. We share data with the service providers that run our website and database (for example, our hosting and Supabase database), and only as needed to operate the site. We never sell or rent your information.
Newsletter & email
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. Joining the newsletter is optional and separate from membership.
Young members & families
Family memberships may include minors. We collect a minor's information only as part of a family membership managed by a parent or guardian, and we use it solely for membership purposes.
Your choices
You may ask us to view, correct, or delete your information at any time. To make a request, contact us through the contact page and we'll respond promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the association grows. We'll revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
